Author & Game Designer
Ada was in class one day, bored out of her mind. It wandered to a familiar place far away, somewhere it always goes to escape the hustle and bustle of Earthly life. This time, it-
“Earth to Ada!” my teacher yelled, waving her arms at me. In a fraction of a second, she soared light years from this place back to her classroom desk. The teacher shook her head, saying, “Honestly, it’s like you’re in your own little world….”
She was right.
Now, it wasn’t until this happened that this world started to populate with creatures other than Ada. Thirteen years, three novels, and two games later, Ada is now on a mission to cross this world over to Earth.
Ada is the writer of a middle-grade fantasy novel titled Khumbi and the Lost Portal, the first in a six book series. She has completed the second book and is actively writing the third. Right now, she is currently seeking representation for Khumbi and the Lost Portal.
She is also attending the Maryland Institute College of Art for a bachelor’s degree in game design. She has done work in board games, 2D, 3D, and Virtual Reality using the Vive VR Set. She will be graduating in May of 2020.
At the age of nine, her short story was featured in the 2006 edition of the Anthology of Short Stories by Young Americans, and her poem was featured in the sister collection, the Anthology of Poetry by Young Americans. Her work has also been published in high school magazines. Her mother, Mary SanGiovanni, is a well-established horror writer with over two decades in the writing business, and has been nominated for a Bram Stoker Award. With inspiration from her and other authors such as J.K. Rowling and Stephen King, Ada went on to bring her little world to life.
Having the privilege of a published novelist as a mother has instilled in her a passion for writing and allowed her to shape her craft at a young age. Now, years after these first publications, she is still very determined in seeing her work reach a wider audience. Her college not only provides a platform she can to use to increase the visibility of her name and this book as a brand, but also expand her craft from just the novels to designing games and illustrating scenes from faraway worlds unknown to anyone but her.
